Welcome to Meredith's Writing Page

Welcome back to my writing site, and Happy New Year!

Like most Americans, I was quite glad to see the tail end of 2001. The e-mail that I sent to my non-New York friends and family, subject heading, "The Morning After," was published in a special edition of my brother's newspaper, the University of Central Florida Independent. It is available here on my site by clicking the link above, or by going into the archives at the Independent, link at the bottom of this page.

On a lighter note, my non-fiction story, "Over the River, and Across the Highway" was published in in the Dovetail Journal for Interfaith Families' Holiday 2001 issue. Nothing like seeing one's name in print, eh?

The travel website, "The Long Trip Home," is publishing my piece on Yankee Stadium for their January Spotlight: New York City issue this month.

Another of my non-fiction stories, "Rooting for the Home Team," is being republished on The Rose and Thorn Literary E-Zine, for which I am also a prose editor.

Finally, the newly revamped Morbid Outlook is up and running, with my short story, "Obedient Child" in the Fiction section.

Personally, I've got a new job at Christie's auction house that I love, and a new apartment back in my old 'hood of the Upper East Side that is just fabulous. So 2002 looks like it should be a much better year this year!

Hope everyone is well and has a wonderful, happy, and healthy New Year!

Be well,
Meredith xoxo

-Henry Rollins

"It begins with a character, usually, and once he stands up on his feet and begins to move, all I do is trot along behind him with a paper and pencil trying to keep up long enough to put down what he says and does."
-William Faulkner

My brother Evan is managing editor at the University of Central Florida Independent newspaper. He reprinted an e-mail I sent him for a special September 11 issue of his paper.
